Institute of Public Health, School of Medicine, NYCU, in collaboration with the Taiwan Health Economics Association, co-organized a lecture event featuring Professor David Canning from Harvard University. The lecture, titled “Valuing lives equally as a foundation for Benefit-Cost Analysis,” explored the importance of equal valuation of life in benefit-cost analysis.

The event took place on May 8th, 112, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM in the Second Conference Room of the Activity Center at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. The lecture was conducted entirely in English. The event attracted approximately 50 participants, including faculty members, students from the Public Health Program, and professionals from related fields. The objective of the event was to promote academic exchange and knowledge sharing, providing a platform for discussing topics related to health economics and public health policy.

Professor David Canning possesses an outstanding academic background at Harvard University, specializing in the field of economics, particularly in the measurement of the value of life and its application in benefit-cost analysis. His research findings hold significant implications for public health policy formulation and health economics.
