We are teachers and students from Institute of Public Health, Institute of Science, Technology and Society, and Institute of Hospital and Health Care Administration, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, as well as Department of Social Work and Department of Bio-Industry Communication and Development, National Taiwan University, with backgrounds in public health, medicine, social work, law and communication.
We believe that the society’s response to mental or psychological disorder could be further integrated with professions in health and welfare, and possibilities of imaginations and actions could be explored. Therefore, we collaborate with caregivers from Eden Social Welfare Foundation Fountain House Direct Line for Caregivers and set up the website ‘It’s Okay to Be Weird’, in hopes for a more friendly society for those with mental disorders.
