On August 29 2022, Director Chuan-Yu Chen led a team to visit the Beitou Health Service Center. It turns out that the center has moved to Shipai, and it is only a 10-minute drive from Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. In addition to understanding the service content of Beitou Community Health during this visit, We also hope to seek guidance and cooperation from the center.

Public health is the science of disease prevention. It is concerned with multifaceted health issues and uses expertise to educate the public about how to live a healthier life. The goal of the Institute is to cultivate multi-faceted public health professionals who can care about the health of the masses and learn for life. This time, we hope that through the community field, students can deeply understand how the public health system operates in the real world.

Beitou Health Service Center’s current main business includes cancer screening, health promotion, infectious disease prevention, case management, etc. It is also a long-term internship unit for the nursing departments of four schools. It will be a very rare experience to learn from going deep into the community for health dissemination.

Thanks to director Wu, secretary and two team leaders of Beitou Health Service Center for their guidance and experience sharing. We believe that in the future, ang Ming Chiao Tung University Public Health Institute will promote Beitou health services.
